There have been recent reports of fraudulent text messages being received (text message spam) stating your card has been blocked/deactivated and to click on a link contained in the text message.
City State Bank would like to remind its customers that we will NEVER contact you by text, email, telephone, mail, etc. asking for private information. Phishing scams are fraudulent ways of trying to obtain information from the customer. |

The HeartBleed Bug has been a hot topic in the news this week. The heartbleed bug is basically a vulnerability in a popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. Many websites using the OpenSSL authentication program are vulnerable to a hack that allows criminals to extract random information from the affect web servers. One report listed that approximately 66% of all websites use the OpenSSL certificate and may be affected. To change your password on Internet Banking, log on to your account. Select “services” and then “change password” from the left menu bar. Changing your password is an easy way to protect yourself from the HeartBleed Bug and other criminal internet activity. |

The retailer, Target, has reported it has encountered a breach affecting the security of debit and credit cards used in stores between 11/27/2013 and 12/15/2013. We have taken precautionary measures and will be contacting customers via mail.

There have been recent reports of fraudulent text messages from City State Bank stating your card has been deactivated and to call a specified phone# to reactivate.
City State Bank would like to remind its customers that we will NEVER contact you by text, email, telephone, mail, etc. asking for private information. It is also important to realize that your account information at City State Bank has NOT been breached. Phishing scams are fraudulent ways of trying to obtain information from the customer. |
